Yea, and the herb, and the good things which come of the earth, whether for food or for raiment, or for houses, or for barns, or for orchards, or for gardens, or for vineyards; Yea, all things which come of the earth, in the season thereof, are made for the benefit and the use of man, both to please the eye and to gladden the heart;
Yea, for food and for raiment, for taste and for smell, to strengthen the body and to enliven the soul. ~ Doctrine and Covenants 59: 17-19

Today I gave a lesson in relief society on Elder M. Russell Ballard's talk. "Oh that Cunning Plan of the Evil One" I wanted to share both my feelings and touch on the doctrine that Elder Ballard teaches so this morning I wrote a poem. Before reading my poem, I invite you to watch the video below where you will hear parts of Elder Ballard's talk.
So, here is a song that I popped out today. It is not totally refined and finished yet, but tell mewhat you think! What should the title be???? ps. this has NOTHING to do with my mom. Actually it kind of does because it was inspired by me imagining what my life would be like without my mom.
Verse 1 innocent princess
alone in her crib
watching her mobile turn
her bottle is empty, her diaper is full
yet the nanny shows little concern
Verse 2 sweet liltle princess
alone in her room
sipping her make believe tea
while chatting with her party guests
Raggedy Ann and Andy
Chorus Raggedy Ann, do you have a mom?
Does she sing you lullabies?
Does she hold you when your sad?
Does she bake you apple pies?
Does she tie your ribbons in a bow?
Does she ever play hide and seek?
Does she tell you that she loves you?
Does she kiss you on the cheek?
Verse 3
lost teenage princess
alone at the mirror
pinching her skin she calls fat
somehow lost pounds equated more love
desiring nothing but that
Verse 4 young adult princess
alone in the bar
Drinking, yet not sure why.
she drinks, she dances, she drinks some more
then she goes home with some guy
Chorus Raggedy Ann, do you have a mom?
Does she sing you lullabies?
Does she hold you when your sad?
Does she bake you apple pies?
Does she tie your ribbons in a bow?
Does she ever play hide and seek?
Does she tell you that she loves you?
Does she kiss you on the cheek?
Bridge What good is a mom if a mom is never there?
Come home to your children. Show them that you care.
